Hello Cornerstone Community Car Care Friends

I began Cornerstone Service about 11 years ago and we have grown to the largest independent car repair shop in the area.  My original aim was to run a one man shop but we quickly grew beyone that.  The calandar year of 2020 was the first year that we did not see a significant year over year growth in revenue since we opened in early 2010.  There were several reasons for that growth but one of the more important is that we try and help people understand how their vehicle works, what needs to be done to restore or preserve it's function and how we are doing just that .  Many people have commented through the years that they appreciated the detailed notes on our invoices or our face to face conversations that explain what we did to repair their vehicles.  It is our belief that this should be the norm.  When you leave any repair shop, sometimes having just paid sereral hundred dollars in repair costs, you need to know what you paid for.  Otherwise, you are left wondering if the repairs really needed to be made or if you paid too much.  Every business transaction should be a "win win".

The purpose for this blog is to explain the sometimes complex subsytems on your vehicles and how they work together in layman's terms to help you make good decisions in the repair and maintenance of your vehicles.  It is our purpose to help you feel confindent in your decisions and safe on the road.  Though my schedule is sometimes manic, I will attempt to post 2 to 4 times a month.  I will probably pick subjects that are seasonal and may post on some that are presently in the news.  This blog will be tagged to our website and to our Facebook page.  Please bookmark us and like us on Facebook.  If you like what we do, share it with your friends and family.  Whether you do business with us or do business elsewhere, I sincerely want to help you better understand your vehicle.
